All Tribes Indian Mission is dedicated to enhancing and nurturing the community of Native believers in North America. Our goal is to strengthen and support their growth through our resources.
We aim to have a solid foundation for the church, preparing it for the growth and expansion we feel the Lord leading us towards. We want to be able to truly take care of the resources and workers the Lord has blessed us with and create an environment for church workers that prevent personal and family burnout. By having a budget, job descriptions, and time off expectations, and by spreading the load among more workers, burnout can be reduced, and better relations with the Native people can be maintained. Our desire is to develop, with the Lord’s help, a culture of missionaries that are taken care of and that when they leave, want to return for visits and short-term ‘fill-in’ trips or to train new workers. We desire to see children of our missionaries saying, “I want to do what my parents did,” and not, “I don’t want to put my children through what I went through.”

We have been able to help many people with them. With the help of a work team from SD, we were able to get the floor ready for concrete in the shop. We have many used tires that have been donated and that we have been able to sell into the community. This operation has really opened the door for Eric to meet the community people and to build a relationship with them.

We were able to haul in around 40 cords of wood in the fall and were able to hire several guys in the community to help. We have sold almost all that we had available and have begun to haul logs for next winter. This operation has provided us with around 300 man hours of time with guys in the community processing the firewood. We are also able to speak with the many individuals that are purchasing the wood. We thank the Lord for all the relationships that have come out of this operation.
With a pivot away from the traditional mission strategies, we are following the Lord’s direction into a ministry that upholds Biblical teachings of helping the poor, not just giving them another handout that further damages their work ethic and self-worth. Some past endeavors to reach the Native Americans have been ineffective and even disastrous in our organization. Many missionaries have left burnt out and wanting to never return, and Natives have been left feeling exploited and misunderstood. The continual handouts have left churches regarded basically the same as federal and state welfare systems and just as ineffective.
